More space to offer more products and services, and civic pride and responsibility in being part of the revitalization of the old downtown.Typical of hard-working, fun-loving Southerners, the Prices played instrumental roles in the designation of Morgan City’s Historic District and later pushed for inclusion in the Main Street program. The Frame Shop has been a center of activity on Front Street ever since. Revitalized Main Street communities do not develop overnight or without generations of commitment and hard work. Deborah Price, Jackie & Frank’s daughter, is keeping the family tradition alive with her involvement in the Downtown Retailers Association, Main Street activities, and other civic & professional associations. Deborah has added a new perspective to the time-honored traditions and success of the business. Recent changes include a complete remodel of the front of the store, the addition of a coffee bar (which many customers will tell you has the best coffee in town), and a varied merchandise mix sure to appeal to a variety of styles and tastes. While the “bread and butter” of The Frame Shop remains full-service custom framing, the gallery space has expanded to showcase the works of many local and regional artists and includes photography, paintings, stained glass, pottery, and much more. The Frame Shop & Gallery Coffee has attracted visitors and clientele from all over the globe who find a warm welcome, friendly conversation, and maybe even that one special piece of artwork they just can’t live without! |
